Thursday, April 7th, 2005I use Bloglines to read my blogs because I use multiple computers in my life. I recently discovered they have a Web Service API. I think it should be possible to build a J2ME blog reader. I have a feeling webservice support is lacking in most phones but it shouldn’t be long before this picks [...]
Moblog 2
Wednesday, March 2nd, 2005I have a plan to take Simon Brown’s excellent moblog and add some features I’d find handy.
Save blogs for later posting
Insertion of HTML chunks
Adding support for cameras and the File API (JSR-75)
I’ll have to chat to Simon next time I see him to see what he thinks.
Blatant Plug
Monday, February 28th, 2005I’ve signed up for the Amazon Associates programme so if you need anything from Amazon I’d be very grateful if you could buy it though a link on my site. There is a handy search box on the right hand side!
Automated “What I’ve been listening to” blogger
Monday, February 28th, 2005The Problem
This is something I quite like the idea of. I’ve seen things for the Mac where it automatically uploads the currently playing track but since I listen to most music at work on my iPod I need something that will work at the end of the day
The Plan
Create a playlist containing the top ten [...]
Open Source J2ME SSH Software
Monday, February 28th, 2005I have a feeling that this post more than any other will pick me out for the geek I am.
Open Source Mobile Phone SSH Software I guess it was only a matter of time really
Reinforcing my desire to go to Japan

ASCII Movies
Monday, February 28th, 2005Sombody either has some very clever software or way too much time on their hands. In fact probably both. Anyway this is well worth a look if you have a few minutes on your hands. ASCII Movies - Click the movies link on the left hand side
First Comment spam
Thursday, February 17th, 2005Ruth got her first comment spam today! I can’t decide whether I’m upset or pleased they didn’t spam me :). Anyway it’s all gone now and it was a good impetus to configure all the spam listeners. Hopefully that should stop anybody else. I really don’t want to ave to move to a moderation model.
Upgraded - Pebble 1.7
Tuesday, February 15th, 2005It’s amazing to see how much the page source has shrunk now Simon’s using CSS instead of evil nested tables. Not sure how I can tell whether any websites get pinged when I post. It doesn’t tell me anymore. I guess it’s happening behind the scenes.
I did manage to loose the minor changes I had [...]
iPod Shuffle
Monday, February 14th, 2005Well I used it in anger for the first time today and I’m impressed so far. iTunes has changed to allow you to only load a certain percentage of the device saving some for data. High bitrate tunes can be re-coded to save save as they are transfered to the device!
Pros
Small and light
Easy to use
Good [...]
