Upgraded - Pebble 1.7

February 15th, 2005

It’s amazing to see how much the page source has shrunk now Simon’s using CSS instead of evil nested tables. Not sure how I can tell whether any websites get pinged when I post. It doesn’t tell me anymore. I guess it’s happening behind the scenes.
I did manage to loose the minor changes I had made to my theme but that is probably down to user error
Ah! Turns out I needed to reload the blog, must RTFM!!

Seems faster too! Provided you’ve added the XmlRpcNotificationListener to your list of blog entry listeners (see <a href=”http://pebble.sourceforge.net/weblog/upgrading.html”>here</a>) then the websites should be being pinged. If you change the log level to INFO in the /WEB-INF/classes/log4j.properties file and restart, you’ll see the pings taking place. Don’t forget to setup the spam listeners! ;-)

What have you done to my blog?? I can’t fit the right hand column (recent posts, the little calendar, recent responses etc) and the main content on my screen so I have to scroll down past the right-hand content to see my actual content and my admin options. Is the CSS only designed for massive screens or something? My referrers have gone all screwy - they’re ALL pebble, all the other ones have disappeared (google, powderroom etc) and I can’t see them from the main spindriftpages.net/pebble page any more. And About Me has disappeared. Grr.

Sounds like a cached Stylesheet problem to me. I’m add back the about me stuff late. Not sure about the referers??

To see your referers, just login and click the Referers link that appears in the blog adminstration section. This used to be a public link on the right-hand side of your blog but has been disabled by default in the new version of Pebble. Clicking the “1234 requests” today link now actually takes you to the requests page instead of the referers, which is why they all say /pebble/…! ;-)
