What a week!
February 10th, 2005
We had an incredible week in Val Thorens. I honestly don’t remember the last time I saw that much snow. The off-piste was as great as I remembered (especially the stuff up above Mottaret)! We had a good few inches (10 maybe) in the middle of the week which took the conditions from great to superb! This could easily have been the best week snow/weather wise this season! Looks like my lack of snow curse has been lifted
When I have a bit more time I’m planning to put together a comprehensive guide to the bits of the Three Valleys I know. Probably consisting of good off-piste spots, good places to build kickers, good runs for beginners etc. We’re off again in March so I’ll do more exploring then too!

Good to hear that VT delivered. I’m a great fan of it. Noticed your comment on putting together your guide to 3V spots. Can I suggest you have a look at http://www.snowspots.org. Its a wiki my friend put together and I’ve helped populate. We wanted to ‘write biographies’ for great runs we know. It’s got some VT content, The Maurienne Red over the back, but you’d be most welcome to add spots.
Hmm, that is the kind of thing I was thinking about. It started as an idea in my head because The World Snowboard Guide is always so out of date. I’ll need to give this some thought I think
