My Garmin Quest has arrived and I have to say it’s very cool! I need to read the instructions because I keep on deleting my detailed maps. I have a theory that when you send data to the device it wipes the whole RAM clear rather than adding what you asked it too. I’ll try and verify this tonight!
On a related now I found this cunning way of Converting Postcodes to Waypoints on John’s Blog. I don’t understand why Garmin don’t include postcode searching as standard, I can search on addresses after all!

I don’t know the quality of the Garmin Quest maps but I recommend you check out the digital maps section downstairs in <a href=”http://www.stanfords.co.uk/Digital/index.htm”>Stamfords</a> on Long Acre. They’ve got some excellent demonstrations of Memory-Map and Anquet mapping software and they really work well with Garmin GPSs.
